The Salvation Army is inviting the community to join us at our Christmas Center (Tupelo Furniture Market, Building 5) to help sort toys, pack gifts and ensure everything is in order and ready for our families on Distribution Day!
This is a great opportunity for individuals, families (even with younger children), students and groups (work, church, friends) to get together in a low-stress, social environment to work at your own pace and help care for our Angels – who are local children in need – this Christmas.
Shifts are outlined below, but we are so happy for the help (many hands make for light work!) that whatever time you are able to give is most welcome.
This is an indoor opportunity, with restroom access, inside building 5 of the Tupelo Furniture Market. There is always a Salvation Army designate supervisor on hand for any questions or concerns.
When you arrive, please park along the side of building 5 and look for the side door that has our “Salvation Army Christmas Center” sign and enter there.
The Salvation Army serves children in need at Christmastime by providing Christmas gift assistance to families in need. Serving Lee, Union, Prentiss and the northern part of Monroe county, parents/guardians apply in advance and we work with each application to ensure financial need and verify documents.
This year we estimate serving over 900 local children! Thank you for your volunteerism!
If you would like to be a part of Distribution Day – where the gifts are all given away, please search for that opportunity on our Agency Page. It is set for Tuesday December 20 from 9-3pm at the Tupelo Furniture Market in Tupelo. It’s one of the BEST days of the year! 🙂
